This looks like such a great pub. Do you think it can be resurrected? Do the locals still want it to work or has it passed it’s sell by date. It seems to have so much potential. I’d be interested to know people’s thoughts.

Well, about the ice wine some info.
The level sugar in this wine is so big, because water is frozen only sugar left.
Wine producer is well known that it is almost imposiblle to have ice wine every year.
Our family, we are also wine producers and yes we also have ice wine. First time in 1997, then 2007 and 2009.

Also we have wine in our wine cellar that is even more sweter than ice wine. Realy, wine like this are like heaven when you taste it.

Level shugar in a ice wine is even twice biger than in ordinary hearverst.
This wines are gifts from heavens.

I dont now what are prices for wine like this in other coutry, the price we have is 30 € for a botle (250 ml).

Every work we made in our wineyards is with hands. So i think that wine like this earn the price we have.

I too start a diet and my idea was to stop drinking until I lost a stone.

I have already failed miserably though, a night out a Bredbury Hall in stockport included 7 pints and an amazing hot beef barm to finish the evening off.

Oh well, I guess I better walk to walk, in marple, from hazel grove.

I have to disagree with Alex here (obviously not on what he has experienced, which I can’t deny, but on his opinion that The Olive Tree is a bad restaurant). I have been there 3 times or so, and I have never had a very long wait for my food or a confusion with the dishes. Most importantly for me, however, on all my visits the food has been delicious. I am a big fan of Halloumi, and theirs is the best I’ve ever had. The Filou pastry with feta inside is wonderful too. I would recommend this restaurant, although it is sometimes crowded.

Haven’t actually visited Yorkshire for some time but this is just the sort of place I’d want to track down there next time. Not sure about “God’s own country” though – surely that’s the Scottish Highlands – or Provence !

I had the Savigny-Gravains 06 from this producer over Xmas. One of the most joyous wines I had last year. Also bought en primeur from the Wine Society. (Almost) affordable red Burgundy, I hope to drink a lot more like in 2012.
