		<description>It does seem that Spatlese level Rieslings from good producers and good sites are increasingly breaking the $US40 (approx. £21) barrier.  As you point out though, Alistair, they can still be good values based on the tremendous pleasure, not to mention age worthiness, they are possible of delivering.

For sheer price point, keep an eye out for the wines of Johann Peter Reinert, one of von Othegraven&#039;s neighbors in the Saar.  His top wines will come in at a similar price point but he offers excellent Spatlesen from sites like Wiltinger Schlangengraben and Wawerner Ritterpfad that should come in closer to £12 or at least under £15, that is assuming they&#039;re available on the UK market.
