I've had a few of these, most recently 21/12/08 and it was fantastic, rich deep, with cracking length. Is there such a thing as bad Champagne??!! lol
i hope not

Many happy returns!

I also find fizz often develops over time. Isn't the Waitrose one elaborated on by the original Champagne Charlie, Charles Heidsieck?

Sometimes vintage versions are a bit boring anyway, multi-vintage having more facets to them by definition...

P.S. -You are sixteen years my senior...

Happy Birthday! No ideas on the Champagne (except to say that when the CO2 is a little less obvious, the quality of the wine is more to the fore).

Hope it was a good one.

I left this in the fridge overnight uncorked and sampled another glass today. I have to say I thought it had improved greatly. Much smoother, less acidic and more depth. Was it the cheapo glass of champagne I had out last night? Or does this wine mature with air? Maybe it's just me but I am much happier with it today than I was yesterday.
